      In the deepening twilight
     She stands
     Just inside the entrance
     To her cave
     Beckoning.

     "Come," she softly calls
     "Follow me."
     "But I'm afraid,"
     You tell her,
     "I fear I will be lost
     " In there
     "And they say
     "That there are Minotaurs."

     You peer into the labyrinth
     Behind her
     The twisting passages
     Winding away
     To nothing...

Out here the familiar world
Crashes on.
The Sea of Sexism,
The City of Doom.
She lifts her proud dark gaze in scorn
"'Tis there one finds the Minotaur."

In the shadow gleams
Her crescent crown
A snake stirs at her breast
And in her hand she holds the Thread
Unraveling a strand
And offering...

Will you come
Oh my sister
Will you come?

Hello again gentle earthlings! Welcome to the cavelet about Shekhinah's wonderful book and home study course, "Ariadne's Thread." The Thread has been around for a long time now, since 1991, but is still going strong and considered a classic in the womanspirit/pagan movement. As Shekhinah suggests on page 5, there are lots of ways you can use this book:

"I feel that publication of this course presents some wonderful opportunities, not only as a continued study text for correspondence students, but as material for the independent student of women's spirituality, solitary magic-makers, and other teachers. "Ariadne's Thread" can serve as a complete or partial curriculum, be used for research, or simple personal enrichment. It can be read as a source of inspiration, as a learning experience, or on a deeper level, as a process of spiritual initiation and social transformation. It is my hope that this book will be used in all these ways... I would like to see those who have completed this course as students go on to teach and share it with other women. I envision the book as a tool for women's study groups and covens, a teaching aid for priestesses and leaders, as well as a magical resource for creating rituals, celebrating the holy days, and understanding Goddess ways."

In ancient times the Mysteries of Women were handed down by the Crone-Mothers to the Maiden-Daughters when their sacred Moonblood began to flow. Learning and teaching were a personal exchange based on mutual love and respect. Both learned and were transformed by the experience. Shekhinah had been teaching this way for many years when she decided to make a course that could reach more sisters through the mail. And that's how "the Thread" was born; the first Goddess Correspondence for Women!

ARIADNE'S THREAD is a guided initiation that takes you through the a-mazing magical Mysteries of Woman. You can read the book on your own, use it as a course of study, and/or follow the Thread with a teacher. Better still, start your own Thread Circle of sisters and practise and study together. Once you have completed the course, you can become a teacher too! Shekhinah is very busy, but usually has a few students through the mail, and keeps a waiting list. Completion entitles you to the Wise Woman Certificate and "W.W." after your name.

If you decide to study with Shekhinah, fees for the course are $750 for all 13 Cycles or $75 per Cycle. (Your payment will hold your place.) The course takes at least 13 moons to complete.

When we receive your payment we will send you a contract pledging our commitment to complete the Journey with you as companions, sisters and spirit guides. Your first study packet will include detailed explanations on how the process works.
